The Company, the Table Reads and beyond…
Back in the early 2000s, I started making short films and needed a name for my fledgling production company. After a couple of false starts, I settled on Northern Unicorn Films Ltd. because I’m Canadian (North), I consider myself unique ( a Unicorn), and I wanted a limited liability production company to produce my own work and someday the work of others.
Then, in the summer of 2020, as the pandemic raged across the globe, I saw the opportunity to help other creatives find an outlet for their gifts.
So, I got a Zoom account and started hosting table reads with writers, actors, directors and invited an audience, advertised, and the Northern Unicorn Films table read community was born.
